I had seen Alieen Shin’s portfolio a year ago when I started getting into UX design. Her portfolio has been one of my favourites so far in the industry. It is clear, clean and visually beautiful. Her portfolio is one of the portfolio’s I took as inspiration when creating my own. I really liked how when you enter Alieen’s portfolio, you are brought to a homepage showcasing all her work, with a clear and direct welcoming message. This allows the website to showcase the most essential part of the site- the design case studies. This approach will enable me to want to start exploring the work she has done in the past. My favourite part of her portfolio are her case studies, specifically her Tumblr case study. She would talk about her projects as if she were telling me a story. Allowing me to see clearly her design process and the project elements that influenced her design decisions. I also really like how she visually presents her design. I really like the clean, white space design style, and she really executed this exceptionally well. I tried to incorporate my learnings from her portfolio into my own work. Showcasing my case study as the gems of my website and allowing my work to be presented as clear, clean and concise.
